Our ingredients
Great products can only be made from quality ingredients. At Bio Active™ we believe that sourcing ingredients from farms that put the health of their animals first results in a better quality product for our consumers.
Cows - Colostrum and milk powder
Nature intended cows to roam free, grazing in lush green fields, not to be confined in barns and fed by grain. Bio Active™ bovine colostrum is sourced only from New Zealand cattle. Colostrum is unique as it is collected according to the natural calving season, rather than all year round. This helps preserve cattle health and ensures the colostrum collected is as fresh as possible. Because cows produce far more colostrum than their offspring require, we can harvest the excess while maintaining strict animal welfare guidelines.
Sheep - Skincare
The sheep placenta extract used in the Bio Active™ Skincare formulation is harvested from ewe’s shortly after they have given birth to their lamb. In the wild the only reason a ewe would need to eat the placenta would be to hide evidence of her newborn lamb from predators. In sheep farms this is not necessary as the herd is protected.
Bees - Propolis
Bee propolis is harvested from managed hives by using a simple propolis trap - this is a removable grid that the bees fill with propolis. The grid is simply removed and the propolis collected, causing no harm to the bees or to their hive.
Goats - Whole milk powder
Goats, by nature are happiest when they can graze on a combination of pasture and rougher foliage and have somewhere sheltered to keep warm. The goat milk in Bio Active™ products is sourced from New Zealand goat farms that provide pasture areas for the goats to roam, as well as warm barns for them to sleep in at night.
Our processes
All Bio Active™ cow and goat dairy products are manufactured by our parent company New Image™ Group. New Image™ prides itself on quality systems and continuous improvement. All of our dairy manufacture sites in New Zealand are approved by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). This approval requires a documented risk management program (RMP) to be implemented.
We have Quality Managers at each facility, and are proud that our facilities are audited at the lowest frequency because of our ongoing dedication to maintaining quality systems, process environment and equipment.
Quality extends into everything we do. All of our biological ingredients are tested to ensure purity and compliance with industry and food safety guidelines. We strive to be the best and make the safest, most effective products from the highest quality raw ingredients.
